How to answer Applied ICT questions

Hi I don't know if I write enough or not cause this is my first exam done by CIE.
Let me explain my question with an example:
The question says:
1 (a) Describe how the monitoring system in an ICU would determine whether a doctor or
nurse needs to be warned about the patient’s condition. [4]

And on mark scheme it states:
Any four points from:
It is a continuous process
Sensors collect patient information/vital signs
Analogue signal from sensors needs to be converted by ADC to digital signal
Computer files contain acceptable data ranges
If data is outside acceptable range …
… Computer/microprocessor signals alarm e.g. trace goes red
If not then continue to monitor


When I write my answer to that question
If I include only "Computer files contain acceptable data ranges information" on my answer, Will I get 4 points, 1 point or 0.5?

I did not understand ur question, but if you only write:

"Computer files contain acceptable data ranges information"

u will most probably get zero . Or at max 1. If u had included the inputs to the system (patient information - blood pressure, etc), how this inputted data r processed (analogue converted to digital, compare with pre-set range of values, etc.) and the outputs (alarm or other signals) at least, u will score at min 3/4. Also u r asked to describe; therefore u should write some sentences instead of mentioning only points as in mark scheme.

As my teachers told me there is no mark as 0.5; u either get 1 or zero for each point u write.

Ofcourse I will describe what I meant was If I describe it with only one fact will I get full point or I must write 4 facts or more?(or more is optional)???

The total mark for the question is 4, so u should write at least 4 valid points to score the full marks. Writing more is optional and u r pretty much safe as long as they r relevant, but u should be very careful with time. Answering 80 marks in 75 minutes requires good time management.
