Hi,
Bro for islamiat the best way to prepare is to Make the key points for the different topic of islamiat e.g personalities etc.
also do memorize as many verses and quotations as you can cos adding them is the best way to make your answer powerful.....e.g for the articles of faith and the pillars of Islam quotation are very important.....
Lastly, very important! read as many examiner reports as you can this will help you a lot.....

I dont know u r giving urdu A or B thats why i can tell abt it...

in islamiat, you must learn alot of facts and figures, they will be more precious if they r accurate and uncommon. For that u need to consult different books. Also this knowledge will be of little use if you are unable to apply it. In the recent years, cie is focusing more on writing relevant answers by asking you a question either in different perspectives or from a part of a topic. So practice writing relevant within the given time limit and learn to manage your material in best way. For part b's u may take some ideas from Yasmeen Malik's book Islamic beliefs and practices. However, these parts are just ur general knowledge n nothing else.
For urdu, just do extensive reading and writing. consult different books to learn the exam techniques and also consult your teachers. practice past papers. Language subjects like this can only be masterted with good practice and reading. Your written expression and language skills should be great and aling with that should be creative enough to write composition with relevant and nice points. However, A* in urdu is often at very high marks i.e 100+ /110 .

2. Islamic beliefs and practices by Yasmin Malik
3. Document on Islam by Ali Asghar
4. Mastering O levels by Bilal
5. When the Moon split by Darasullam Publishers.

If u manage to read all the books and grasp the much of concepts u can easily get an A*. However, u may only use book 1 and 2 for merely exam preparation. Well preparation from both these books can also get you to atleast an A.
