Maybe. But I rather think this way:
We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. (V)
So IMO the idea i.e. the lamb is stupid. Because instead of as they do in Montessori kids are forced to memorize the poem about the lamb (the idea) instead of bringing out their own creative talent.
