Hey guys, can someone help me out with a past paper question.
May 2010 Unit 3B Physics Q1 - a)
It literally flew over my head. Any help will be much appreciated

The one where have to describe how to draw the path of ray through the block?

- Draw the outlines of the glass block.
- Shine a ray of light using a Ray box and draw the emergent and incident rays with a pencil.
- Remove the glass block and join the two ends of the emergent and incident rays.

Always remembr th thing abt choosin meters like ammeter or voltmeter: Choose th meter which has a range almost twice or more of the given value!! The difference shouldn't be too large nor too small!
In th ques. fr example-
1.We can calculate th total resistance in th circuit.
2. calculate current ( 3/110 = 0.0273 A = 27.3 mA = 27300 microA)
3. A. & B. r rejectd cos thr lower.
4. now between C. nd D., D. is too large therefore C. is th best ans.

*The moral of this question is to find the value that is greater than the CURRENT value for 100ohm RESISTOR & 3V PD!!

here it goes:

R=100ohm; V=3V

I=V/R
therefore, I=3V/100ohm = 0.03A

A) 2000μ = 2000 x10^-6 = 0.002A (pretty lower than the value we got!)
B) 20m = 20 x10^-3 = 0.02A (not greater than 0.03A!)
C) 200m = 200 x10^-3 = 0.2A (GREATER THAN 0.03A!)
D) 10A (nah! too large! WASTAGE! )

therefore the answer is C (200mA)

is it clear now?

memorize and remember these:

Nano (n) = 10^-9
Micro (μ) = 10^-6
Milli (m) = 10^-3

Kilo (k) = 10^3
Mega (M) = 10^6
Giga (G) = 10^9

How much was your gradient value? ?

gradient was 173 so v is 346 wbu?

159 so i got 318, and by the way i didn't use my graph since it gave a gradient of 120. i used the given points to find it. do you think it is ok to use those points??
