Is it that hard to get an A* for this subject?
What are the expected grade boundaries for A*?
Im sitting for it this October for the first time.
Is the marking really strict?
I really want that A* :(

Even if Marking is strict , or it looks hard , Have no worries about it... If you want the A* , Study and focus on Writing and listening , these should be main points in the exam ,therefore focus on them , especially the Summarising , ¬¬ it is quite annoying.

Hope I helped ..

check for marking schemes ...for summaries it will help u a lot...i mean u will learn how to write summaries...which points totake from the passage!!
for listening u shud have a very good practice so that u can score full marks...this can increase the chance of getting an A* or atleast an A!!

Well, as far as the marks are concerned, you should get around 34/36 in Listening and 80/84 to get A*.

Just work hard, keep your answers simple. Use one or two idioms in exercises 6 and 7.

Ease your nerves and be prepared.

All the best,
Fsams

Always put a 'twist' to your essays , they award extra marks for that
And just becareful of your language and spelling as they easily deduct marks for this , use figures of speech too in your writting

I know they will not give full mark, but they do give 16 and 15. I have some Marked Scripts from Cambridge University, so I know it very well and
that's how exactly how I train my students. Let me know if you need further help.

All the best,
Fsams

Mine starting on Tuesday (GMT+8)
omg !
So my plan is to get all corect for the comprehension, forms, notes.
Maybe 1 mistake for summary (9/10)
The two essays. Maybe 5 marks to lose.

BTW. If i take ESL Extended, will I be able to apply for unis like oxford cambridge imperial?
or they only want English as a first language.

Im really curious.

Anyways, hope everyone will do their best. Must pray that it will be easy !
