IGCSE Physics Circuits Trouble!!

Hey all! I'm new here...giving my Physics exam on 16th May and I have a problem that I can't find a solution for. It's electricity circuits! I NEVER understand the flow of current and all. Especially when they put confusing diagrams of a parallel circuit within a series circuit and ask to calculate the voltage across a certain component or whatever. Can anyone please give me some tricks on how to understand the path of current?
