Armed jihad. Basically, it is a duty which if performed by some of the community ceases to be obligation on rest but if no one performs it and surrender then it is a great sin upon all. It is supposed to be undertaken in self-defence when Islam is subjected to attack. (Quotes from Madinah when permission to fight was given.)
