(b) In the Millikan experiment, oil droplets were found to have the following charges.

4.88 × 10
–19 C
1.64 × 10
–19 C
3.14 × 10
–19 C
4.76 × 10

Use these data to determine a value for the elementary charge. Explain your working.

Please help me i have no idea of how to attempt the question

you take the values that are the closest to each other and subtract them...the answer you get is the elemantary charge...hope it helps

Take the smallest charge 4rm ur list and divide all the other charges one by one to get the total no of electrons... Add all the charges and divide it by the total no of electrons to get the elementry charge.
