M2 Question/ A Theory Needed!!

When A Lamina Is hanging without weights the line of action doesn't change right? It goes through centre of gravity right?
But what exactly happens when we add masses? why does the line shift? and also how can we draw such a diagram? specially with a string attached to it.
If there's any theories behind it please tell me. And also any hints/clues or anything that'll help
