Making up examples for SAT essay does it work

so somebody gave an example in sat essay about how some tribal leader in Africa once underestimated a guy and had to pay for it....LOL he got 11 so DOes it work

An example made up? Yes unfortunately, sometimes it does.
But it's better to keep some good examples/events in mind anyway.
