Marking in CIE A level

This year my brother sat for the A level in Physics. He thinks that he may pass the AS papers but he will get failed in A 2 papers, will he get any grades or not ??? I mean will he get only AS grade or will get failed overall.

it depends if he got an A or above in As. then he will get a D or an E. if you sit for a full A level exam ull be marked for one
