MATH 4400 3H NEED HELP PLZ!!!

HOW CAN I GET THE LOWER BOUND OF PERIMETER OF THE SQUARE THAT HAS SIDE LENGTH 6.81 CORRECT TO 3 SIGNIFICANT FIGURES ????
PLZ I NEED HELP AND THNX

to find L & U bounds
every time you add 5 for upper bound and subtract 5 lower bound from the place value.
here to find lower bound of 6.81 subtract 5. that is 6.81-.05=6.76
so perimeter
=2(6.76+6.76)
=27.04
subtract again 5 that is 27.04-.05=26.99
=27(3 sf)

you will just divide the third significant figure which is 0.01 by 2 which will be 0.005 subtract it from the 6.81
and this is the lower bound then multiply it by 4 and that's it
