Okk.. On the May/June 2010 p2 variant 2.. I have difficulty with question 10.. it says:-
make x the subject of the formula ... P=x+3/x

Can someone please layout all the steps and how to work it out??? thank you

well, it goes like this,
P=x+3/x
Px=x+3
Px-x=3
x(P-1)=3
x=3/P-1

thankkk you so so so much!! i also have another question from oct nov 2010 23.. Q16 .. it says .. find i in terms of g and h ... g/2 = (sqroot) h/i

g/2=(sqroot) h/i
(g/2)square=h/i
g square/4=h/i
g square * i=4h
i=4h/g square
sry but i hope u understand vat i've written coz u cnt put square root and square signs. * stands for multiplication btw
