how to know whether gradient of a graph is negative or positive??

If the slope of the graph if from left to right (upwards), the gradient is positive.
If it is from right to left (downwards), the gradient is negative.

Easy way to remember... ^^

** graphs flow from left to right...

If it moves downwards from left to right, the gradient is -ve...
If it moves upwards from left to right, the gradient is +ve...
