can someone explain part b of the same question.

(b)(i) 7 men take 15 days so 3 men would take?
We will use direct method as men is directly proportional to days hence

7 : 15
3 : x ------> (7 x 15)/3= 35 days

(ii) 105/t

Wa-alikum-as-salaam!
y =kx^2
For this paerticular value of x, kx^2 = 10
When x is halved, y = k (x/2)^2 = kx^2/4
Since kx^2 = 10, kx^2/4 = 10/4 = 5/2 = 2.5.
Therefore, y = 2.5

When you halve the value of x, the value is quartered. That's why we do 10/4. Wait... I can write this clearly for you if you still don't get it.
