Any tips please. Really nervous for this paper..

Has anyone learned those damn matrices of transformations. Can't we make them through any method :/

Well for Transformation Matrices you can use this method:
1) Plot two points A(1,0) and B(0,1) - It can be roughly plotted
2) Apply the matrix to these points. This means that the first column is substituting (1,0) and second replaces (0,1).

For example if the matrix is :-
(0 1)
(1 0)
then A goes to (0,1) and B to (1,0). Now you can deduce the transformation. In this case it will be rotation of 90 degrees anticlockwise about origin.

P.S : If you are asked to guess transformation using matrix it will always be about origin.
P.P.S : For Shear and Stretch, any number in the matrix that is not 0 or 1 is the scale factor.

Hope it helps man (y)

Yes you can deduce it.

Here is the formula for it.

Matrix x Object = Image
Matrix = Image x Object inverse.

Object is your original image and Image is the given transformation. Just write down their (x,y) points and then apply the formula.
Your Matrix will be the same.

here's an easy method shown in this document! its a lengthy one but i assure you, the chance of error will be drastically minimized! (provided you follow this method correctly)
deducing sometimes can be really annoying and not EVERY student is able to do that!
