S10, qp 13 question 9 ii)

I know how to get to x^3/3-16/x but I do not understand why +8x is there. WHERE did that come from? Pleasee someone help!

Also has anyone noticed the pattern that would be asked for the S11 P1 paper? Im extremely nervous for this paper!
