guys how do we tackle questions like one in paper 4 specimen

please if any one can answer give the basic concept or formulas that r to be used so that one can solve problems like this easily

BTW...this specimen is exactly the same as MAY/JUNE 2007 paper 4....they just changed the sequence of some questions...
now question 8 proved to be very difficult for most candidates (including my sister) at the June 2007 session
part a) i personally didn't know how to solve it but as the answer was in meters cubed, then u must have had to multiply 3 "m" and thoose where "1.2m" "0.3m" "3m/minute x 60"
part b) was quite simple actually once u figured part a
part c ) u just use the volume of the cylinder but use h as "0.0013m" and volume as 2 m
part d) u use direct proportionality to find out the surface area then u use the formula "area= perimeter x length" to work out the length
u could still check out the mark scheme and the 2007 examiner's report for more details
