For part a) When you draw the venn diagram, you can see that 22 people went on only the morning cruise, 25 people went to only the evening barbecue and 4 people went to both events while 1 went to neither. when you total them; 22+4+25+1=52. There are 52 elements while there should be only 50, therefore it is not possible.

b) the greatest number of people who could have gone to both events is 26, with 9 going to only the evening barbecue. So the answer is 26.
for least number let number of people going to both events be X.
so..26-X+29-X+X=50
X=55-50
X=5. So the answer is 5
HOpe this helps! :)
