i mean if we only study the book isnt that enough

no you must finish your book before the exams are on, and past papers are must!
Its just like you read a book on "how to operate a computer" but not the manual of the computer itself.

d1 d2 d3 d4 are best for learning but you must solve past papers to prepare for the exams.
