Hello!

Does anyone have a clue on what's the minimum score out of 110 one should have to get an A or A* grade in English language? And what exactly is the highest percentage/score in english so far in history? what are your guesses about this year's highest score or percentage.

Thank you!

Yeah even for sciences, wish I'd taken IGCSES
On one side, I hear people saying that IGCSE's are much easier in terms of paper patterns and procedures.
On the other side, they have such low thresholds.
I'm confused.

It's not the IGCSE standards which are low, it's the entire CIE's and every other exam boards'. Even the thresholds in A level are low and some subjects like Additional Mathematics, Pakistan Studies, Computer Studies have identical papers in O level and IGCSE, so the marking standards being applied are the same.

Yeah, I know, but different students attempt the papers, you never know what to expect.

Yeah the standards are the same and difficulty is same, but my understanding is that IGCSEs are so widespread (even in Africa) and ppl who take them are not well prepared due to lack of resources i.e. books and teaching in their countries, that the thresholds are bound to drop. whereas olevels are taken mostly in south asia, just look at the level of prep of Pakistani students (distinctions are common!)
