The problem is that i forgot to shade my candidate number on the physics multiple choice answer sheet and that has really got me worried. Though my name was written and i did sign, i can't get rid of this gnawing feeling at heart that my test may not be marked.

Does anybody here have had the same experience as me or knows what happens when a situation like this occurs?

the automatic sorting and checking system at CIE(which depends on those shaded numbers) will probably return an error at your paper and mark it for manual review, someone will probably shade in those numbers and reinsert into the papers to be checked.

Dont worry, im sure CIE wont take this as a good enough reason to ruin your entire AS level career.

I have read the instructions written on the paper (Both in Chem and Phy). It said

"If your name and candidate number is not printed on the paper, write your name in CAPITAL letters and shade your candidate number."

But since your Name And Candidate number were already printed you don't need to worry at all :) Besides the centers check the sheets before sending them in for the candidate number field when sorting them and will shade your candidate number for you.
