Hey everyone :D
Hope all are well :)

As you all know we have a few months left for the exam session:cry: and majority of us are getting into the study mode and using this prime time to get revision done (Hopefully all of us :p )

Comparing igcse to A-levels it was very easy but as you all know A-levels is a course which has a lot of detail to be understood and learnt. I (and maybe many others) have the problem is that today I will read some topic in any subject and I will understand but a few days later I have forgotten it  And I cant do memorisation. Its just something I can never do:oops:

I have done research and watched youtube videos but you know the case some help, some dont. So I wanted to know what you guys do and maybe I and others will find them useful.
You can either post them according to a specific subject or just post any random.
Some I tried are:
Biology - Mind Maps (loads of detail in bio so its easier to just make a colourful mind map and let it stick)
Chemistry - Flashcards (Effective but I find them time consuming )
and for Maths and English - Practice Practice Practice whether its practicing books or Pastpapers

Anywhoo I hope you all share your advice
Will be very helpful for us all :D

Best of Luck for your Exams!!!!:D:D:D

I'm sharing my way of studying (revising) :p

First, I just go through the coursebook, once may be. I read and analyze each and every line. Once done, I straight away dive into past papers, without wasting any further time on the book. Past papers help us revise things each and every day. For example, if we do a single paper, we are actually going through almost the whole syllabus for once; so if you're doing about atleast 3-4 papers, you'll going through the whole syllabus, thrice in a single day! So if you're doing this practice on regular basis, things will just get stick to your mind forever. :D

However, if I find anything which i don't understand while solving papers, I look up that topic again from the book, and the markschemes. On 99.99% of the instances, my confusions are resolved. But even then if I don't get it and remain unable to solve the question, I just google regarding that topic.

And i kinda arer with Rizwan Javed . I do almost the same since past papers ive you a overview of the pattern and how a question can be set from the chapter.
But for BIOLOGY you need to get the facts registered in your brain.Get all the keywords and you get the marks. That is what i learned from my experience. Plus Mark schemes to me are like Full Notes for me of the chapter. When you read the amrkscheem na? Concentrate on it very well.

AS for Chemsitry Organice is pretty much Road learning. While thee reast is concept. Study book then papers. That is the only way ou can get and A * Which we will in sha Allah.

For physcis? -_- I dont know.

Oops. Wrong place to be tagged in. :p But I can tell something.

Start studying at least a month before exams. And STUDY FOR YOUR MOCKS no matter what. Procrastination is all chill and cool until you're nearing the end. I am not really sure how NOT to procrastinate. I know we can tell ourselves a thousand times to not waste time and we still would. So start controlling yourself a bit earlier and start studying little by little each day so that by the time you reach your mocks, you are actually studying something. Get yourself in the flow. You can get someone really strict and a bit merciless (not cruel, but merciless enough to get you to study :p) to push you to study, or maybe even tell a set of people that you will get the grade you desire. Public announcements will want you to keep up your word and the slight pressure could get you studying. Hand over your mobile phones, laptops, whatever to your parents and tell them to give it to you only for a specified amount of time in a day and take it back.

If you can get a place away from the people in your house while you are studying, it would be good. Because many times, they don't really understand that the slightest distraction is more than enough to spoil your mood of studying and also is good to use as an excuse.

Like you guys have already mentioned, studying the concept then doing past papers is key. One more thing that really helps is to note down the mistakes you make in tests or while practicing and the questions you find hard in the paper, come back to it later, and try to solve the same questions again. By doing this, you know your mistakes and will realise were you're weak and you can improve yourself that way.

It also helps when you teach someone what you've learnt. It gets stuff to stick to your head.

For chemistry, you could keep yourself aware of what you need to study with the syllabus paper. As you are revising each topic, tick off the requirements in the checklist given in syllabus if you have understood it. Besides, ticking off topics gives happiness and motivation. :p

......

For those of you reading this, say, 10 days before your exam and you feel you don't know a thing in a subject. You have more than half the subject to actually study for the first time and you haven't done a single paper. Please, don't lose hope. A LOT can be done in 10 days, trust me. You just need to focus and stop thinking about the time you wasted before! Face it as a challenge, learn to work under pressure and enjoy the thrill. It's time to get things done NOW if you haven't before. This time is crucial. Force yourself to give it everything you got. Athletes do race their contestants in the last minute of the race too. What I am trying to say you can STILL do good.

...

Above everything else, pray a lot. In the end, during your exam, no matter how much you've studied there's possibility for anything to happen that could help you or ruin your paper. So everything is in Allah's hands.

All the best, people! :D
