Make a ratio thingy and change two things at a time only:

40 men : 4m : 15 days

We want 5m... So keep the days constant and change men and height: (more height = more men)

10men : 1m : 15days
50men : 5m : 15 days

We want 6 days.... Do same thing, keeping height constant... Note that less days = more men

250men : 5m : 3days
125men : 5m : 6days

So ans is 125.

Alternatively I think you can make an equation by using direct and inversely proportional variable thingy...

We want 5m... So keep the days constant and change men and height: (more height = more men)

10men : 1m : 15days
50men : 5m : 15 days

We want 6 days.... Do same thing, keeping height constant... Note that less days = more men

250men : 5m : 3days
125men : 5m : 6days

So ans is 125.

First find the common ratio.

40:4:15

X:5:6

40(1:0.1:0.375)

X:5:6

Now equate the second ratio to find x

5/x = 0.1

6/x = 0.375

You will get x = 50 and x = 16

Find the commonly shared value of x

50/16 = 3.125

Multiply by 40 to find the no. of men required.

3.125 * 40 = 125 Ans. (choice b)
