Negative marking???!!

I had a question about the marking criteria for geography:
If I were to write... say 6 points for a 4 mark question, 2 of those points are invalid while the rest are valid so how much marks will I get??
Assuming that the first 2 points I made were inappropriate....

cie awards you for achievement, it doesn't penalise for incorrect answers. so there's no concept of negative marking.
