i guess its optional cz i also askd my teacher about it and she said that questions related to this topic rarely come( i never came across any question related to this in any past paper) but still to be on the safe side, we read it once ...and yes it cums in theory part of Paper 2.

its pretty easy and its not optional for those who are saying its optional,the only optional topic is that Electronics part containing astable and bistable circuits
