November 2007, Paper 4 maths Help :S

There are many questions that I find quite puzzling in this exam :S

1) the First Thing, Question 2 was horrible.. I couldn't solve it. Especially the Probability part .,
and Marking scheme always contradicts with me :S

2) Question 3 part f..
I couldn't get the points at the end of the line
and I am not very sure how am I supposed to solve this :S

3)Question 8 part b ..
The marking scheme has a very wierd answer for it :S
I need help in understanding what how I should deal with this :S


4) Question 8 Part e!!!
I kind of tried it and got 1/8 :S
why does the marking scheme say -3


...
I know that's alot!!!

for question 2 you should draw a tree diagram:
b i) bus and claude are late :
0.1 * 0.8 =0.08
b) ii) claude is late :
bus late and claude late + bus not late and claude late
=( 0.1*0.8 )+( 0.9 *0.05)=0.125
b iii)
56*0.125 =7days
question 3 f)
co-ordinates of mid-point =
x1+x2/2 and y1+y2/2
question 8 b)
you replace the x in g(f) with f
(3/2x-1 )+1
note: u should know that if smth. came in paper 2 then it wont come in paper 4
e) and this 1/8 you equate it to 2^x
1/8=2^-3
2^-3=2^x so x=-3
