O Level Islamiyat please help.

Hello guys,

I am going to give the CIE O Level Islamiyat exam in May/June 2014. Please help me as I don't have proper notes. I am not fond of memorizing or mugging up lengthy answers so I want precise answers which can result in high marks as my goal is to achieve A or A* in the exam. I have the RedSpot Past Papers (2002-2012) but I need perfect and complete notes. Also if you guys have any valuable information/details about the exam, please do share them with me.

Best notes are the textbooks itself. Read them thoroughly, understand all parts, memorize important points and quotations, ponder over topics. Study examiner reports and markschemes to effectively practice past paper questions and write your own answers A good reference book as notes available in PDF is 'Mastering Olevel Islamiyat' by Bilal Aslam.

I can provide you with all the possible questions that can be given in both the papers, i guarantee you an A* if u learn all the questions rather than preparing entire books for this subject.

try the book of Ghulam Shabbir, it contains many things we need like summaries, maps, and other elaborations too

use as many resource books as possible
use the blue one by Farkhanda Noor Muhammad and another one by Iftikhar-ul-Haq
also include the green book by Yasmin Malik
dont forget to include the book endorsed by CIE (the one by Mustafa Draper)
make sure to compile ur notes by yourself
also learn as many quotations as possible and organize ur answers according to the question
seek help from others. u can post r queries over here and we will try our best to help u

Thanks a lot for the information guys. I have doubt. Since I am in Grade 9 and doing IGCSE, I have other subjects to focus on also. I only have 4 months left till my Urdu and Islamiyat O' Level exam. So should I learn every topic thoroughly or learn the past paper questions (2009-2013) (would they guarantee an A grade)? Please help. And oh yes, I am learning from the green Islamiyat textbook by Farkhanda Noor Muhammad.

u shud do both
more importantly revise the syllabus, as without any knowledge of the syllabus u cant answer the questions
yes questions are repeated in the Islmiyat exam but the examiners are now making new questions
for example look at the may/june 2013 paper. the question 2 is novel and had a new aspect of temptation
so after revising the syllaus thoroughly look at the past papers and the past papers will help u develop and write an answer
do consult other reference books
and yes memorize as many quotations as possible and make sure to revise all the topics in the paper, for example dont leave the revision of a certain topic by bragging that u wont attempt that question in the exam. the examiners are now tending to give 2 questions on the same topic
