O LEVEL TEXTBOOKS

Hello Everyone ......

Please Suggest some good textbooks as well as some reference books for the following subjects.

1. Chemistry
2. Physics
3. Computer Studies
4. Islamiat
5. Pakistan Studies
6. Additional Mathematics

 

[Master Minds]

for most of them you can find cambridge endorsed books easily in the market which I would recommend you to use. Here is the list of the books in my knowledge which I prefer to use for examination purposes.
1. for chemistry and physics I use oxford and cambridge revision guides for igcse (as i am an igcse student) and also consult sometimes the books by collins.
2. for computer studies, igcse computer studies endorsed by cambridge and along with that a revision guide (i forgot the name :/ ).
3. for islamiat, farkhanda noor's islamiat for o levels and yasmin malik's islamic beliefs and practices. you may also go for document on islam by ali asghar and mastering o levels by bilal , you can find many other comprehensive books if you have enough time for studying.
4. for pakistan studies, same well known books by nigel smith and nigel kelly for paper 1 and huma naz sethi's environment of pakistan. some of my friends also use a book named somthing like history of pakistan a contemptery look, bowever i have never used it.
5. for add math u may use redspot's revision guide and along with that new additional mathematics.
These all are the books i think are really nice but you may also check the cambridge resourse list for the respective subjects.

My opinion:

1. Chemistry a course for O' level by Christopher N Prescott
3. Computer Studies- try Information Systems for you by Stephen Doyle
4. Islamiat for O' levels by Farkhanda Noor Muhammad (best of history i.e lives of prophet pbuh, caliphs, wives etc), Islam in modern perspective by Aisha Tariq (for general Islam) and u can also have Islam beliefs and practices by Yasmin Malik as a ref. book as it contains some good points.
5. Pak. Studies: History and culture of Pak. by Nigel Kelly, and The Environment of Pakistan by Huma Naz Sethi are the best books. History ref: Pakistan His, Cult, Gov by Nigel Smith and Geog reference: Pakistan- Geo, Eco and people by F K Khan
6. Add. Maths: New Additional Mathematics.

Stephen Doyle is enough to study for computer studies to prepare for A* grade?

There is no book having enough material for exceptionally high grades, expect in case that u have some outstanding notes from someone. You should go for at least another book endorsed by cambridge for computer studies or as an alternative ask ur teacher's opinion.
