P1 maths help...

o/n 2007 p1 q.11 (v)...there are some other questons like this also..i want to ask y we take the - sign here when we took sqrt

Because if u square any +ve or -ve value ,u always get a +ve answer.
so basically there r 2 possibilities every time.
u have to consider -ve sign in all such questions!

well i had seen other question we were taking + value.....and i thought abt this .....the reason is that...range of f is <2
so if u select the + sign this condition ll not be fulfilled...thats we took -ve sign to comply with range
