it was student Y, and for energy types i think they wanted any types other than the ones mentioned so i wrote kinetic,chemical,strain
It was student X :D

in series: total resistance: 960 +12= 972 ohms
emf =240V

lamp1= 12/972 *240= 2.96V

lamp2= 960/972*240=237V so student Y is correct

i have no idea wat the hell ur saying ... seriously!!!
the thing is that the mass was increased so automatically the weight is increased .. so if the weight is increased that means the workdone by the motor will increase in order to moe the pakage and so the graitational potential energy will change since p.e=mgh ....
dont know how u fitted in distance in all dis :no:

I don't remember the figures but when I worked it out, it was student X :unknown:

no student X was correct since the total resistance was 972 and voltage 240 so by using V=IR
the current will be 0.25 ... the thing to remember is that the lamps were connected in series so the current remains same throughout the circuit

Seee I just know that the time taken was more for each package to reach its destination . All I did was elaborate more on the point mentioning the power and energy somewhere .

yup, i know that the current is the same but two lamps in series would make a potential divider and both lamps will light up

lamps would blow when voltage is higher than the rating

No sorry thats wrong
All of you are wrong
I am sorry to tell you because
you said time will decrease this means power will increase as power is inversly proportional to time

Time taken to 'deliver each package to the top' will increase =.='

You must give a reason with it and then I accept(no problem)
Please give me a proof why your answer is right and then I will accept it
Ok see I gave you a proof, what about u

another proof is that if there is less power how is the package delivered.......

I know it says that but if time is decreased then power will increase and how is that(that is your answer)
u need to keep the power constant
