yup the lower the percentile the more chances for an A* , but beware in the forum there is no complete agreement on one method of percentile and there are like two different methods which have been made now no one knows which is correct !

so if the percentile is low, they can give an A in lower marks than the percentage?

no the percentage is made according to percentile so that is why when u get originally 80% with original marks but as these marks are the highest then any body else then u get a distinction and the other peoples marks and grades are calculated from this percentage and marks this might sound difficult to understand but look in the link below !

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4524&hilit=percentile+percentile+how+does+it+work

but as u go to the last pages some of the members say that it is different from what Chem Master said so its a little difficult to understand !

I read this and now kind of understand.

You meant that if , for example, the highest out of all the papers are 68/75 , then that will get a distinction, and the rest of the papers will be marked according to those numbers... like 61/68, 59/68
right???
If yes, that really increases the chances of getting A's. :D

Inshallah the percentile will be LOOOoooowwww

Beacuse of this, I kind of understand. You mea that if the highest out of all the tests are, for example, 68/75, then that will be 100% and all the percentages will be given according to that. Like 61/68 , 59/68

right?

If yes, that totally increases the chances of getting A*'s. Inshallah the percentile will be LOOOooOoooOOOwww !
