the first part of the question was pretty easy.. you jut had to do GPE=mgh if i'm not mistaken.

then i put 0J as it the carton's stopped moving
then GPE decreases. That's because GPE=mgh... since h is decreasing and m and g remain the same, then GPE has to decrease as it's converted into KE.
