Physics AS Nuclear section HELP!

Ok, so nuclear decay is random and spontaneous. The fluctuations in the geiger meter indicates that nuclear decay is a random and spontaneous process right?

And, the half life of a radioactive substance is uncertain because nuclear decay is random, or random AND spontaneous? :Search:

random and spontaneuos are two diff things.. spontanous is that is not effected by external factors.. and random is due to fluctuations... =

spontaneous refers to the nucleus thats not affected by the environmental factor like pressure, temperature, heat..etc

for random...in large no of nucleus we cannot verify which nucleus will decay at first or at last..means we cannot make sure which nucleus will decay next...


i think we do not need to understand about half life in AS core..
