he would pull the block with the newton meter and the when the block moves he will take down the reading on newton meter...this will enable him to know the force applied against him i.e friction..

pull the block wid meter slowly and note down d reading just after block moves

well he can change the weights for checking the friction on different weights
and clamp and the other things must be there to confuse u..i think
check the ms or er!!
