No, I'm sure now that the cathode is 6v ac and the circuit ( connects anode and cathode ) is 600v dc ( 3000 in my book ) but the pastpapers maybe means it to be high only.i think it should be 600 v dc

No to the cathodei dont know what you are talking about all i know is that the connection b/w the cathode and the anode is d.c and that it should be high voltage so that it will cause thermionic emission are you talking about the a.c connection to the Y plates ?
