It's about kinematics, not cricket :p but here you go:
(a) Speed is the rate of change of distance with time whereas velocity is the rate of change of displacement with time. (moreover, remember that speed is a scalar quantity while velocity is a vector quantity).
(b) (i) First the ball is coming towards the bat so it's velocity is + 25m/s. Then it is going away from the bat in the opposite direction so the velocity will be - 22m/s.
=> Change in velocity = 25 - (-22) = 25 + 22 = 47 m/s.
(ii) a = change in velocity/ time taken = 47/0.0013 = 36,200m/s^2 (correct to 3 sig. fig.s)
(iii) F= ma
=> F = 0.16 x 47/0.0013 = 5780 N (correct to 3 sig. fig.s)
