Greetings
I am currently doing History for my IGCSE and not geography, however I have to make a decision as to which subject to take for my AS levels next year
I find History rather really boring , especially source work , however I do get a distinction in History always. I also heard that AS History is much more tougher than AS geography and that the essays that you are required to write in history is worth 25 marks and like 4 pages each , which really put me off.The topics for AS History also seem very very boring.
After a long thought , I was still confused as to whether I should take As Geography or AS History

My Reasons for wanting to take AS Geography :
- Probably study engineering at university
- Topics seem much more interesting
- No source work and boring long essays
- Can achieve a higher mark

My reasons for possibly taking History :
- Doing it on IGCSE

I would really appreciate it if anybody could advise me as to wether I should take Geography or History on AS level
If I do end up taking geography will I be able to cope without the IGCSE course of it? , will I be able to get a relatively good mark ?(A*)

Thanks , I would REALLY appreciate any advice

DEFINITELY go for AS Geo :) - a more conceptual subject and will help you a lot..

As far as ur 2nd qstn z concerned, I guess many topics of IGCSE GEOGRAPHY are also covered in AS GEOGRAPHY, but, of course on a slightly higher level...So it is not necessary that one must have done IGCSE GEOGRAPHY before taking AS GEOGRAPHY...

I'm sure u'l do well

Best of luck :)
