I was wondering that if somebody could help me with Physics P31, May/June 2009 these questions:
Q8(c), Whats the formula for Refractive Index. Is it: 1/n=sin i/sin r or n=sin i/sin r
Q9(b)(ii)
Q11, Whole question

in this case the formula will be 1/n = sin i / sin r OR n = sin r / sin i

answer 1:
43' because look at the second protractor count the number between the normal and the original ray.
it is 42 plus the small gap left at the refracted ray, make it 43' (they will accept both 42 and 43)

answer 2:
draw arrow in A
start from down line the continue it then when u reach the point go up left not right
then when u reach another point go down dont go up
the to the red then black the go directly to the other end of the circuit.

answer 3:
beta particle is opposite of alpha due to its charge and use it if u cant remember its properties
so it deflected toward the bottom and it is lighter than alpha so large deflection
for gamma it dont deflect at all cause it is neutral so no large or small deflection

and the last part
1) it is opposite to alpha (ofcourse when u want to cancel something go opposite of it)
2) then u must mention perpendicular to the magnetic field (u can also say toward the plates )
