well had CIE lost your examination papers then the predicted grades will actually help them to give a grade

The CIE system is very efficient therefore it's unlikely they will lose your exam paper, in which case they will most probably have you sit the exam again. However, this has nothing to do with the predicted grades. Basically, the predicted grades are meant to moniter the performance of the certified teachers in CIE approved institutes. As in, the closer the actual grade to the predicted grade, the more efficient the teacher. This in no way whatsoever effect the grade you achieve, so don't worry about it!
