In the Q1 of History paper w12 the question is stated:
How successful was Indian resistance to British attempts to take control of lands in
the sub-continent between 1750 and 1850? Explain your answer./14

In the MS it is stated:
Successes:
power of local Nawabs
early successes of Tipu Sultan
Ranjit Singh
Failures:

these success are constant problems for every one, no idea were they are elaborated. What i think and what i know about it is that in case of rajnit singh, it was his refusal to support british in setting a puppet ruler in kabul. As a result, british suffered alot in afganistan.
For early success of tipu sultan, these are the battles he fought with his full might and eic faced consecutive losses. Thus it proved that british army was of no math to tipu sultan's but british used a propoganda instead of military strength to kill tipu. Support was gained against tipu by representing him as a cruel ruler.
For power of local nawabs, it is the unity in battle of buxar when they joined forcs against british but they failed. (I ma not sure about it)
Thats all what i know. I would recommand u to consult ur teacher n let me know once u undertsand it.
