Retaking AS Mathematics

Hello Guys,

I got my AS Results for Maths recently...

Pure Math 1 P13 - 29 / 75
Stats 1 P63 - 41 / 50

Overall on Result on site : 58 (D)

I'm just wondering if I'm going to resit for AS again...
Is it possible to just resit Pure Math 1 only?

Because it was a miracle that I score 41/50 for Statistics because it was my most hated subject.
Hence, I would like to ask, if I resit AS Math P1, P6 again in Oct/Nov 2016.

Is it possible I can do well in P1, but badly in P6 for Oct/Nov,
the highest marks for P6 from my previous series be counted?

Because for CIE Mathematics, Pure Math 1, Statistics S1 and Mechanics S1 is counted as AS subject.

No it is not possible to just retake P1 or any other component. You either retake AS (P1+S1) or you retake the AS+A2 (P1+P3+M1+S1). These are the only two options available to you.

Good results brother. ^_^ You can work harder and smarter to achieve a grade that u deserve. :D
You have still time to prepare. ;) Put all the efforts :D
In this thread I have uploaded math resource, it includes P1 and S1 as well. Click them, take time to grasp as many concepts as you can. And practice past papers to get hold on concepts of A level math. Practice at least 6 to 7 different type of questions on one topic. Download topicals form the same link I mentoined above. You can solve different types of question from there. And yes my best wishes are with you. Dont be afraid, you will do it... ^_^ I was once an C grade student in IGCSE math, due to that notes, I got a B in A level math (AS) ^_^ Try it. :)

How do you know your component marks?
I just got overall grades only

actually pure 1 is really easy if u know the format of the questions just do it again and get A

you get it from your school after like 2 days the results released
Maybe you should check out with the Director or your teacher

I took exams privately, so where do I get them from? British council?

privately but still you can ask about it in the center where the exam was conducted or the one who gave you the results
i dont know about a private candidate ................:cry:

Well I got them through my lecturer, they hand copied everyone's results in the examination unit.

We don't get percentages any longer in our region. If you notice, he gave variant 3 of his exams while we give variant 2. I think CIE still print percentages but in specific regions and definitely not in Pakistan. They ceased it since 2010.

Look you need to practice Pure Maths. S1 is very tricky and you did very good in S1. In P1 you need 55+ for A grade.

Problem is I can't handle 4 subjects during A2. Because I'm extremely tired after getting after waking at 5.30AM getting ready to College, 1 hour ride to college, class starts at 8am end at 4pm came back home at 6pm. Dinner at 7pm, homework til 1-3am

not technically motivated to study anymore :|

Than carry on your AS result with A2 exams you might get a C though.
