AOA, and greetings to the Xtreme community!!

I am currently doing A2 overseas and have a national passport and planning to enter medical studies in Pakistan (MBBS/MD program). At the moment I am applying for NUST Islamabad (National University of Science and Technology) and other medical colleges there. Most good universities have an option for applying through SAT II scores and bypassing the national/their own entry test, on self-finance.

My question is:
-How much worth does this option have considering the merit for entering into medical studies is VERY high there if applying through the local board/A-levels etc? (merit list for SAT scores available in some universities)
-Does it increase the chances of entering? If yes by how much? Given self-finance is not an issue. ( Seats for SAT applicants are usually limited to a small number)

The two options... 1. SAT II + A-levels... 2. A-levels + entrance test... seem to be of equal weightage (your opinion may vary). And now I am not sure which option to choose....

If there are people here who have gone through this dilemma or know a good deal about the issue, your help will be much appreciated!

--------Thanks in advance!!

Well in my opinion u shuld giv Sat 2 frst...if u get gud marks in it thn apply through SAT as it will cement ur position...if not thn apply through entry test
My plan is to try both plans simultaneously...though an issue is tht wth SAT the fess is usually a lot ...considering nd applying through both plans will make u more assured abt ur chances in getting admission in at least 1 of medi unis

Take the SAT-II test. If you get a score higher than 2300, then go for option 1. Otherwise, option 2.

Totally agree with you!! Will be following this path...
A little doubt here, how much of a burden is it to study for two boards at the same time considering i will have to go through the syllabus for the local board too for the common entrance exam?
btw it's already late for me to begin my studies for the SATs regardless of how difficult they are....

Thanks in advance!
