How to perform series dilution as in JO7 P31 Q1

Plz tell me as it is coming in almost every paper?

suppose u have 4 ml of 100% solution on NaCl T0
take 4ml of it and add 4ml of h20 ( u get 50% diluted soln) T1
then take 4ml out of T1 and add 4 ml of h2o again , u will get 25% diluted sln T2
and go on !! each time the conc of nacl is halved!
u get it now??

use this equation
C1V1 = C2V2
where c1 is the initial conc of the solution (1%)
c2 is the final conc u want
v2 is the final volume u need
and u need to find v1!!

in this question..take v1 10ml
and c2 as....0.75%, 0.50% and 0.25%

so to make 0.75% solution...C1V1= C2V2
..............................1 V1 = 0.75*10
V1= 7.5ml of 1% of solution
10- 7.5 = 2.5ml of water!!

hey, for a question like this what would the heading of the table be?? (1b)
and thats a really smart way for doing serial dilution... i used it for chem, but our bio teacher taught us something really confusing for this... :s thanks! this makes it so clear

conc. of lead nitrate (%)....amt of 1% of lead nitrate added(cm^3)... amt of distilled water added(cm^3)...observations after adding 4 drops of iodine

Heading could be easier like i have:-

sr#
vol of Pb(NO3)2
Vol of water in lead nitrate
conc. of Pb(No3)2
vol of starch + amylase

but in this question make sure you take same volumes of lead nitrate as that taken of distill water in previous part.

this is simple dilution only, not a serial dilution

hydrated ammonim salt titrated with KMnO4
usual salt analysis
one thermal question

We have to titrate ammonium nitrate with KMn04 or would we need to oxidize potassium iodide in the

presence of ammonium nitrate and then titrate the resulting solution with sodium thiosulphate? :|

a similar question is expected!
