in phy
we say phi ie magnetic flux linkage
it is BxA
but is it BA cos angle
or BAsin angle

That's simple!

Flux is defined as the penetration of magnetic field through a given area.

Flux = Area x Magnetic Field

If the magnetic field penetrates the given area at an angle FROM THE PERPENDICULAR to the area

Flux = A x B cos a

where A is the area, B is the magnetic flux and a is the angle of penetration with respect to the NORMAL to the area.

A flux passing through a coil of N turns of wire is said to have a link with the coil. Therefore

Magnetic Flux Linkage is given by:

Flux Linkage = Number of coil turn x Magnetic Flux

there is no case with sin

yes there can be sin...if B makes an angle @ with the area A the flux wud be [email protected] u hav physics pacific A level vol.2. see page 511

yar princess js remember one thing that we always take the component of B that is normal to area A....watever the angle is, jus take its normal component!

i understood from a friend, we always take components of BA, if the direction is at zero angle , the nno sin or cos, in other cases, take that component which gives force at normal to magnetic field....
