Generally if a line is leaning forwards like this / , it is said to have a positive gradient.
Backward bending lines like this \ have a negative gradient.
So look for the portion of the graph that bends backwards.
You'll find that it is in the interval 0<x<6
This is the answer !!!
You cannot effectively measure a horizontal graph period using y values hence we use x values.

Inverse of a matrix
I don't think that's possible.
Up to now I've only seen them ask the inverse of 2 x 2 matrices.
However it is also possible to find the inverse of a 3 x 3 matrix but I don't think it's required of an IGCSE student.
