structural formulas....displayed formulas

i have seen ms is also giving displayed formula where structural one is asked....so cn we give displayed one....
and what are the things being noted in structural formula

when the question paper says that give the formula , both are accepted.
but when the question is specific , u also give the specific answer

structural formula eg -COOH

displayed formula eg

O
ll
-C-O-H

displayed formula shows all the bonds in a compound.
structural formula shows the structure of a compound (all bonds need not to be shown)
u can check it out on the beginning of the organic chemistry part of the syllabus
