But why many schools have made this subject compulsory?
Yes, Schools have made this compulsory because it polishes your english skills, I opted for English Language instead of G.P.

Well there might be others, I'm not sure. But I fail to see why most schools try to make these subjects compulsory when a) they don't even have much credit b) are a waste of time and don't really improve your English skills.
