I would suggest you to carry on doing A levels if you get good grades in O levels .... Fsc is alot different from O levels. If you think you can handle all the Rattafying that is rote learning then you'll be able to do Fsc.
Personally some of my friends and I had a bad experience with intermediate system! We ended up switching to A levels 2 months after the session started. I had switched from O levels because I wanted to persue a career in Medicine. But Fsc wasn't at all my thing. However O level students usually do find Fsc easy. Chemistry is alot like the one in O levels ... Maths also from what I've heard is simple. Physics is different with all the derivations.

Alot of people you'll encounter will tell you that if you want to continue studies in Pakistan you should do Fsc. Don't think that's the only option you have. Good students who prepare for the entry tests do get into good universities irrespective of what they've done A levels or inter.

So I suggest you to really think about your decision. It's an important one to make!

if u get 6 or more A's, then go for A Levels.....otherwise, do FSc...
till last yr, no student got into lums engg with less than 6 A's, and this yr, likely to be 7,.....
so doing FSc, will increase ur probability to score gud in entry tests as u will be having low equivalence marks.. :)

I you have made up your mind to do Engineering from Pakistan University then it is better to do F.Sc.
because after doing A Levels there is a problem of degree equalization and hence marks are lost by comparison.
it is same as if you take admission in UK university they accept one year additional study after F.Sc of Pakistan.
It depends upon your decision. I suggest you to do F.Sc for engineering if you wanna admission in Pakistan
and A Levels if abroad.
regards
anzaar.

As far as the famous horror of marks deduction is concerned, it aint that big a horror as people make it out to be.
Depend alot on which uni you wish to enroll in.

Pieass.. it Doesnt bother about grades or makrs or anything, only abt their own entry test 100% and interview they give you admission.
Nust: Depends 75% on entry test and rest on Olevel/matric and Aleve;/fsc marks. They do deduct marks. But that doesnt matter when its value is so low. So if they deduct 30 percent marks you will be behind by abt 7 marks (here i am comparing to people from fsc that are top scorers which are few to begin with so you wont be behind ALL or even MOST of them, probably a small percentage) which you can compensate in entry test where a level students can do better IF they study hard accordng to their syllabus. (as in A level syllabus)

I dont know abt UET GIK and FAST. But I am sure they wont be much different.
Good luck.

Well dude, if u wud have asked the same question before a month or so, i wud have recommended u FSc. but now, going thru dat nightmare of an experience i have realized that 1st thing is k vohi karo jo tumhara apna dila karta hai. this way u wont have any1 to blame on, nd later u wont suffer from it.
2ndly, i figured that a good O level student (with 7+ As, or the 1 who turned very good in A level) can cope with these entry tests if he/she works hard enough after giving A levels.
good luck! cuz ur gonna need it fo sure after 2 years :p
P.S. an instant example of that "good" student is right in front of u :p
