can anyone tell me some great tips to achieve an A or A* in ESL?

Writing:
Try to do as many pastpapers as you can. May be 1 a day; that would be enough.
At last, don't take your eyes off the A*.

Here's an advice: Try to use full terms, instead of 'thx' you could use 'thanks'. Trust me, there is a possibility you might right the same in the writing exam. I almost did that.
